About Us

Whillo was launched in June of 2022 to provide quality audio content for Christian families. Our mission is to build a collection of top-notch, wholesome audio that can be listened to by conservative Christian families all around the globe.

Although the founders are of a Reformed background, we strive to provide content that Christian families of all walks of life can enjoy: audiobooks and music with good values, timeless lessons and stories, family values, and/or based on the Bible.

We sincerely hope you enjoy Whillo as much as we do. If you have any feedback please don’t hesitate to reach out to us; we’d love to have your input!

The van Rhijn Family

Whillo Founders

Layne and Melinda van Rhijn were both born and raised in southern Alberta where they still live today (along with their three children).

Layne manages the technical side of Whillo (website, app development, licensing etc.) and Melinda takes care of things like narrator auditions and customer support. She also helps keep Layne sane whenever the app has a technical issue he can’t quite sort out.

Their children (one of the main reasons they built Whillo) are eager “proof listeners” and, if enough caramel Mentos were involved, would likely be able to recite most of our audiobooks by heart at this point.

Have feedback on the Whillo platform or our content? Suggestions for future audiobooks? Let us know!

Daniel Kim

Whillo Music Director

Daniel is a classically trained pianist with rich experience in performance and orchestration. His achievements include Piano Concerto Gold Certificate from Calgary Kiwanis Music Festival, Young Artist Competition Finalist with Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra, and being a guest conductor at Lethbridge Symphony Orchestra. Daniel also has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Lethbridge.

Unable to find a good Dutch wife in south Korea, he eventually moved to Canada where he met (and recently married) Evelyn Verhoef.

You’ll find much of Daniel’s music on Whillo, including the very popular Orchestral Psalters album. If you have music suggestions please send him a quick email!
